1:144 North American FJ-4B Fury Deluxe Addition
The North American FJ-4 Fury was a swept-wing carrier-capable fighter-bomber for the United States Navy and Marine Corps. It was designed as an all-weather interceptor and the first FJ-4 flew on 28 October 1954, with 150 being built. The FJ-4B version was capable of carrying a nuclear weapon. 222 FJ-4Bs were built. The FJ-4 and FJ-4B were retired in the late 1960s. This 1/144 Deluxe Edition scale model kit of the FJ-4 Fury contains 53 parts providing the modeler with numerous options for displaying the model. Two sets of landing gear are provided, extended and compressed, and the canopy may be made open or closed. The canopy glass is printed in clear plastic and a cockpit, complete with a seat and a detailed instrument panel, are included. The wing tips may be displayed folded up, or down, and similarly, the hatch for the access ladder to the cockpit may be modeled closed, or deployed. The surface control features, including the ailerons, aileron trims, flaps, elevators and rudder, are provided as separate pieces and may be assembled in whatever position is desired. Four short and two long wing pylons, two fuel tanks, two AGM-12 Bullpup missiles and two AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles are provided for those who want to display the model carrying a payload. For those wanting a different combination of payload, a "1/144 Scale FJ-4B Armament Kit" is available. Other features include an in-flight refueling (IFR) probe, pitot tube and antennas. A list of the parts and parts diagrams are provided and a file containing a decal sheet for printing your own decals will also be made available. Alternatively, very nice decals, in multiple schemes may be obtained from Swampfox Decals at firstname.lastname@example.org.
